This session is an opportunity to learn what Mindfulness is, how it can transform your business relationships and how to develop a Mindfulness practice. Today, Mindfulness and Meditation are common ideas in business, healthcare and schools, but why? Together, in a safe environment, we will explore these ideas.
Mindfulness is a quality of awareness. It is intentional, on purpose and a choice. It is awareness of our present moment experience. Mindfulness does not happen in the future or the past. When we are Mindful, we are aware of our present moment experience, without judgement. When we are judging things as good or bad, right or wrong, our awareness is limited. When we suspend judgment, we can be more open to what is.
Mindfulness also means ‘to remember’. We remember we have a choice where our attention goes. Many of us move through our day on autopilot lost in thought and performing tasks by habit. Mindfulness is the antidote to ‘autopilot’ by remembering we have a choice of what to pay attention to.
